It was a natural progression for John Jones to start manning the decks at the age of 15 after collecting specialist dance (house) music for a previous 3 years. I was influenced by the likes of Masters at Work, MK, David Morales, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez and Mood II Swing.
I linked up with Hed Kandi in 2001 and in the last six years have had the pleasure of touring as a resident worldwide to cities such as New York, Sydney, Christchurch, San Francisco, Bogotá (Columbia), Miami, Reykjavik, Moscow, Ibiza, Majorca, Marbella, Glasgow, Dublin and Barcelona (with the stand outs having to be David Morales club Stereo in Montreal which was mind-blowing and also playing New Years Day @ Gatecrasher with Erick Morillo in 2006), alongside our residencies in the UK and presenting the Stereo Sushi Radio Show on MOS Radio and assisting on the compilation of the Stereo Sushi CD’s. | Real name Elaine Shin, TYNEE ( “Tiny”) grew up in New York. Her first memories of dance music and parties would be the ones her parents held when it was already way past her bedtime. When they were not having parties outside of their residence, Tynee’s parents used to invite friends over and crank up the sound system and have a pretty good time in the living room. She would wake up thinking there was a fire in the living room and discover adults dancing in the living room. That was like better than the discovery of sliced bread! At age seven, her parents bought her her first ghetto blaster. From that day onwards, music became an integral part of her daily life. By age 12, she began clubbing with older friends. This was during the dawn of House music. She saw many of today’s legendary DJs just starting to make a name for themselves back then. Little Louie Vega (Masters At Work), DJ Red Alert, Canadian Deadly Hedley were a few names that gave Tynee her first taste of underground club music. During the high school years, the scope of music that made her hairs stand up and have goose bumps included the U.K. sounds of New Order, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and O.M.D. The mixture of the U.S. House vs. U.K. alternative sounds gave Tynee a nice wide range of music to love |
